Coaching vs. Therapy

Both coaching and therapy hold transformative potential, but they serve different purposes.

Focus

Coaching encourages you to be fully present while exploring the future with curiosity and intention. Therapy often invites you to explore and heal past wounds, integrating them into your present experience.

Purpose

Coaching illuminates your inherent strengths, helping you make empowered choices that lead to growth and fulfillment. Therapy tends to address deeper emotional or psychological concerns, often with a focus on healing and integration.

Methods

Coaching emphasizes mindful goal-setting, self-compassion, and contemplative inquiry, inviting you to see challenges as opportunities for growth. Therapy may use more specialized techniques, such as trauma healing or cognitive-behavioral approaches, aimed at addressing specific emotional patterns.

Regulation

Coaching is not constrained by licensing and can offer a more flexible, open-ended approach. Therapy is regulated by state licensure, often addresses mental health disorders, and may be covered by insurance.
