Contemplative psychotherapy is an approach to mental health that recognizes every person’s inherent goodness and wholeness, even when facing challenges.
Unlike some methods that may view people as “broken,” this therapy focuses on helping you understand yourself with compassion and curiosity. The goal is not to “fix” you, but to create a safe and welcoming space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with kindness.

Core principles: discovering your inner strengths

1. Inner wisdom

We all have an inner capacity for healing and growth—sometimes, we just need a little guidance to tap into it. This perspective helps us move away from seeing ourselves as “flawed” and instead acknowledges our ability to cultivate resilience and positive change.

2. Loving-kindness

Developing a gentle and friendly relationship with yourself is essential. By accepting whatever arises in therapy—whether it’s thoughts, feelings, or behaviors—without judgment, you create an environment where healing and growth are possible.

3. The therapeutic relationship

Human connection is at the heart of the healing process. In our sessions, I will strive to be genuinely present and engaged with you, fostering a space where compassion and understanding can naturally grow.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose contemplative psychotherapy?

In this approach, both therapists and clients use mindfulness and meditation techniques—but only if you feel comfortable. These practices help create an open and inclusive space for everyone, including those dealing with complex issues (like those around sex or sexuality). I aim to serve as a guide, helping you navigate your journey with courage and authenticity, rather than imposing any “one size fits all” solutions.

Do I have to meditate?

Absolutely not (I promise). While meditation is important in my own practice and informs my work as a therapist, it is not something I generally introduce to clients unless you ask me to. The goal is to meet you where you are and explore together the best ways to support your journey.

Your journey your choice?

By choosing contemplative psychotherapy, you are embarking on a path that values your unique experiences and inner wisdom. Together, we will explore your inner landscape with compassion, curiosity, and deep respect for your inherent worth.
