Let’s talk about sex addiction
Sex addiction can feel isolating. Partner with a therapist who offers reflective, supportive care to guide you through this challenge.
A Compassionate Approach to Sex Addiction and Compulsive Sexual Behavior
Struggling with compulsive sexual behaviors, such as excessive porn use or feeling caught in patterns that don’t align with your values, can be an isolating and overwhelming experience. Often, these behaviors come with feelings of shame, confusion, or frustration, and it can be hard to find a space to talk openly about what you’re going through.
In our work together, I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can safely explore these behaviors, understand their roots, and find new paths forward.
Traditional views on sex addiction often rely on narrow definitions of “healthy” sexuality that don’t consider the full spectrum of human experiences, especially those outside heteronormative or faith-based perspectives. Many treatment programs label behaviors as “addictive” without considering cultural, relational, or personal contexts. As a result, behaviors that fall outside conventional norms—like queer or non-traditional expressions of sexuality—are sometimes unfairly pathologized.
I believe that sexuality is a natural and integral part of human development, and our work will focus on understanding your unique experiences and the needs that drive your behavior.
Drawing from a trauma-informed perspective, we’ll explore the underlying emotions, triggers, and patterns that may be contributing to your distress. Together, we’ll develop practical tools, coping strategies, and healthier ways to express and connect with your sexual self.
Redefining Healing and Recovery
Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model, I aim to help you find a definition of recovery that feels authentic to you.
Drawing inspiration from experts like Gabor Maté, we’ll look at addiction not as a problem to be punished, but as a behavior that may have developed to meet certain emotional needs.
What is your sexual behavior trying to communicate? What are the underlying fears, desires, or unmet needs driving it?
By understanding what is “right” about these behaviors—what they are doing for you—we can work to address those needs in healthier ways.
Creating a Path Forward
Through our sessions, I’ll help you build greater self-awareness, identify the triggers and patterns that may be contributing to your behaviors, and develop new ways of responding.
Using mindfulness techniques and contemplative psychotherapy, we’ll focus on reconnecting with your authentic self and building a balanced relationship with your sexuality.
You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. With compassion, curiosity, and an open mind, we’ll work together to find freedom from compulsive behaviors and create a more fulfilling and joyful life.
Your Journey, Your Recovery
Recovery from sex addiction is not a one-size-fits-all process; it should be as unique as you are.
Whether through psychotherapy, mindfulness, or building a supportive community, I am here to help you reestablish a sense of ownership over your body and mind, helping you find peace in the present and hope for the future.
Healing is possible, and it starts with creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported.
Supporting Partners Through Betrayal Trauma
If you’re the partner of someone struggling with sex addiction or compulsive sexual behaviors, you may be feeling overwhelmed by feelings of betrayal, confusion, anger, or grief.
Navigating betrayal trauma can be incredibly painful and isolating, as friends and family often don’t understand, or they have strong opinions. In our work together, I provide a compassionate, supportive space where you can process your emotions, reclaim your sense of self, and begin to heal.
We’ll explore healthy boundaries, rebuild trust—whether that’s within the relationship or with yourself—and develop coping strategies that honor your unique journey toward healing and wholeness.
